A talk before any facial

The consultation is a conversation and a look at your skin under a lamp. Genoveva asks how your skin feels now and what you use on it, you ask whatever you like, and she writes it all down. On its own, a consultation includes no facial.

What she asks

  • What you use now, and how often

  • How your skin feels in the morning and by evening

  • Anything that stings or turns red

  • What you'd like from a visit

Before a facial

When she'll suggest a doctor first

A facial can't do everything, and some things belong with a doctor or a dermatologist. If you notice one of these, Genoveva will say so at the consultation and wait until you've been seen.

  • A spot that has changed

A mole or patch that has changed in size, color or shape, or that bleeds, should be looked at by a doctor before any facial.

  • A sore that stays open

A sore that hasn't closed in a few weeks is a question for a doctor.

  • A rash, or skin that is hot, swollen or sore

These need a doctor, not a facial, and Genoveva will move your visit to another day.

  • A new medicine for your skin

If your doctor has started something new for your skin, bring its name, and she'll ask you to check with your doctor before she begins.
